We are told “You have a voice so speak up”
But we get pushed further down whenever we do speak up
I don’t understand why they tell us
“You can do whatever you put your mind to”
When they want us to be successful in life
But when we do what we want we are looked down upon as freaks
It’s confusing to me and it will always be confusing to me
I am told to dream big and reach for the stars
But in reality they mean do something reasonable and not to crazy
We are all told that we can be whatever we want
When we grow up
Then we actually do it and either we are seen as
Being a good person
Or seen as a freak for wanting to do it
Many of us feel like we don’t have a voice
Trust me I feel the same way everyday
Until now I give up trying to be the perfect person
Who goes along with everyone else
I am my own leader not them
I have a voice and now I choose
What I can do with it
I CHOOSE TO SPEAK UP
