I walk the path of Darkness
With my two companions,
Silence and Loneliness.
Silence,
Speechless and mute,
Takes my hand on my right.
I can see his complexion,
Shadowed
With unknown thoughts and emotions.
His face,
An unexpected comfort,
Is without lips,
Without ears.
Silence looks at me as he takes my hand.
His eyes
Like cold pieces of glass,
Reflecting under the moonlight.
Those eyes
Detach themselves from me,
Leaving me breathless
With fear.
As we step forward,
His grasp grows
Stronger and tighter.
I am unable to escape.
Loneliness,
Frail and thin,
Takes my hand on my left.
I can see his complexion,
Old and withered,
Like a wraith.
His touch
Is empty,
Without sensation,
Without warmth.
A presence,
But more of a phantom he is,
As he drifts beside Silence and me.
His eyes
Look right through me,
Empty and blind.
As he glances away,
I feel his suffocating grip grow
Harder,
Scared to let me go.
I am afraid.
I can sense
The deep mouth of Eternity,
Closing in on me.
