My Dear Friend

Where have you been my dear friend?
For a letter to you i was planning to send.
It has been so long since i have heard from you
Have you wondered why you have not heard from me too?
 
Have you been away or indisposed?
I assumed you had gone or left i supposed
Why when you knew that i needed you most
Did you go and leave and abandon your post?
 
And i see you took with you my strength and my pride
And i thought they were afraid and just gone to hide.
Afraid of success or getting ahead
Because ,you see,now i realize,
     
That i am not better off dead.
