MONEY TALKS

MONEY TALKS

Our money speaks

in many tongues.

Mine said, “Spend me”

when I was young.

It said, “Grow me”

in later years

as family grew

through sweat and tears

It said, “Hold me”

as fiscal signs

react to fear

in cautious times

When I grew old

it said again,

“While there’s time

it’s time to spend.”

And when I died

its voice turned blue,

“I did not want

to die with you.”
